Nature Conservancy Board

The Nature Conservancy Boards are appointed by the authorization of § 10 in the law of the Løgting no. 48 from July 9th 1970 about nature conservancy.

The Nature Conservancy Boards process issues concerning permission to build, road building amongst other issues that are under §§ 2-4 and matters concerning preservation according to § 6 in the law.

The Nature Conservancy Boards have meetings according to requests from municipalities or individuals, who wish to bring up matters concerning preservation, or who wish to be granted a permission.

The boards also have meetings at their own requests.

The sheriffs are chairmen in the boards, and they also arrange for the board’s work.

The boards are appointed for six years at a time, and the last time was in September 2011.
