Northern cooperation

The Ministry of Health participates in the northern minister council concerning the cooperation in the public and health service area. The overall management of the work belongs to the northern public and health service ministers, who usually meet once a year.

The council of the government officials usually meet twice every year, where 4-5 government officials from each Northern country meet and participate. The Ministry of Health has one representative in the council.

This cooperation in the public and health service area is about:

·       Demolishing obstacles in connection with moving to other Northern countries

·       To develop the northern welfare societies in connection with new European and international challenges.

·       To develop the northern cooperation with the northern immediate environment

·       To exchange information on the public and health area and give information about experiences, which each country has on the area.

You can find more information about the northern cooperation on the Northern Council website.
